New GALILEO Databases

There are two new additions to the GALILEO family of databases: Applied Social Sciences Index and Abstracts and Physical Education Index.

Applied Social Sciences Index and Abstracts is an indexing and abstracting tool covering health, social services, psychology, sociology, economics, politics, race relations and education. Updated monthly, ASSIA provides a comprehensive source of social science and health information for the practical and academic professional.

Physical Education Index provides citations and abstracts on a wide variety of content, ranging from physical education curricula, to sports medicine, to dance. Other coverage includes sport law, kinesiology, motor learning, recreation, standardized fitness tests, sports equipment, business and marketing, coaching and training, health education, physical therapy, and sport sociology/psychology.

While neither index contains full text articles, they are very useful in locating citations in these areas. Ask at the Reference Desk for more information on all of our research tools.
