Symposium Essay Contest

The 2006 Decatur Campus Symposium - The Game, The Guts, The Glory: A Historical Perspective on Collegiate Athletics - is kicking off with an essay contest. The contest is open to all currently enrolled Decatur Campus students. Essays are due by March 13th in the Humanities Department Office (SB-2280). Winners will be announced during the Symposium. See the contest flyer for additional information, including topics.

A wide range of resources on Symposium related topics are available on 3 day reserve in the Decatur Campus Library.

Cinematic Tribute To August Wilson

In celebration of Black History Month, the Decaur Campus Inkwell Creative Writing Club is presenting A Cinematic Tribute to August Wilson.

The event will be held on Friday, February 17 from 11:00am - 2:30pm in the Decatur Campus Student Center and consists of screenings of two films related to the late playwright. First will be "A Conversation With August Wilson", a brief interview with Wilson discussing his works. The second film is a presentation of Wilson's "The Piano Lesson" starring Alfre Woodard and Charles S. Dutton. The films will be prefaced by a discussion with Dr. Shawn Williams.

Free popcorn and soft drinks will be available!
