Staff Pick" "Listen Up! Spoken Word Poetry"

Staff Recommendations #2
Originally uploaded by decatur library.
"Listen Up! Is an anthology of poetry from some of the most prolific and outspoken poets of today. If you’re into spoken word, the works of Saul Williams and Jessica Care Moore may be more familiar to you but this book brings some lesser known but just as powerful poets to light. Many of these poets are national slam champions of the infamous Nuyorican Café. These poems are powerful, political, historical and very, very contemporary."
